Hero MotoCorp has completely stopped sending the Hero Mavrick 440 to its dealers. The company hasn’t made or dispatched even a single unit in the past three months. Before that, sales were already very low, with the company only managing to sell a few hundred units in total.
The Hero Mavrick 440 was launched earlier this year. It was Hero’s big step into the premium bike segment. The company had high hopes for this bike, as it was based on the same platform as the Harley-Davidson X440. It was made for young riders who want a stylish, powerful bike at a good price. But now, Hero has removed the Maverick 440 from its official website, which means the bike has been officially discontinued.
Why Did Hero Stop Selling the Hero Maverick 440?
Hero has not given an official reason. But people in the industry believe that the main reason is low sales.
Even though the Hero Mavrick 440 had good features and a fair price, it could not attract enough buyers. On the other hand, the Harley-Davidson X440, which shares the same engine and design, gained popularity.
Another reason could be that Hero is not seen as a premium bike brand. Most people know Hero for its commuter bikes like Splendor and HF Deluxe. In the premium bike market, buyers typically opt for brands such as Royal Enfield, Honda, or Bajaj.
There was also strong competition in the market. The Mavrick 440 had to compete with well-known bikes like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Honda CB350, Bajaj Dominar 400, and TVS Ronin. With so many options, the Maverick 440 could not make a big impact.

What Did the Hero Maverick 440 Offer?
The Hero Mavrick 440 was not a bad bike. It had good performance and useful features.

Reports say Hero is developing new models based on the same platform as the Mavrick 440 and Harley X440. So, we may see a new and improved premium Hero bike soon.
