Honda is getting ready to launch a brand-new electric motorcycle on 2nd September 2025. This isn’t just any EV—it will have the power of a 500cc petrol bike. That means it will be fast, powerful, and built for real bikers, not just for city rides.
Honda’s 500cc First Big EV Bike
Till now, Honda has only launched small electric scooters. But this is the company’s first high-performance electric motorcycle. It’s based on the EV Fun concept that Honda showed last year. At that time, they said it would give similar performance to a 500cc petrol bike.

So, we can expect this EV to produce around 50bhp (horsepower). Also, electric bikes usually give more torque, which means better pickup and smooth performance.
What We Saw in the Teaser
Honda shared a teaser video showing this new EV bike. It was covered (camouflaged), but we still noticed a few things:
- A big TFT digital screen on the dashboard
- A wide LED light in the front (DRL – Daytime Running Light)
- Clip-on handlebars with bar-end mirrors
- A riding position that looks slightly sporty
- It has CCS2 fast charging same as used in electric cars
This shows Honda is making a premium and modern electric bike that’s ready for the future.
Performance and Features
Though Honda hasn’t shared the full specs yet, here’s what we expect:
- Power: About 50bhp, like a 500cc petrol bike
- Top Speed: Over 150 km/h
- Range: Around 150–200 km on a single charge
- Fast Charging: Yes, with CCS2 port
- Design: Sporty look with premium features
This bike is built not just for city use but also for rbdeep highway riding and long-distance travel.
🇮🇳 No India Launch (For Now)
Sadly, Honda has no plans to launch this electric bike in India right now.
Why? Because in India, the electric two-wheeler market is still focused on affordable scooters, not big electric bikes. Most people here want EVs that cost under ₹1.5 lakh and are used for daily travel.
This new Honda EV will likely cost ₹4–6 lakh (or more) in international markets. At that price, Indian buyers still prefer petrol bikes like Royal Enfield, KTM, or big scooters. Also, fast charging stations for bikes are still very few in India.
At present, Ultraviolette F77 is the only high-performance electric bike being sold in India.

🌍 Where Will It Launch?
This bike is mainly for countries like:
- USA
- Japan
- UK
- European countries
These places already have good charging stations, better EV awareness, and more people willing to spend on electric bikes.
Why It’s a Big Deal
Honda is one of the biggest motorcycle brands in the world. If they are entering the big EV bike segment, it means electric motorcycles are getting serious.
Till now, brands like Zero Motorcycles and Harley-Davidson (LiveWire) were leading this segment. But now with Honda coming in, the game could change.
When Honda fully reveals the bike, we will get to know:
- Full technical details (battery, motor, range)
- Exact name of the model
- Price in global markets
- Launch plan for different countries
- When will it go on sale?
